The Heavy Week >> January 21-31st

A week of events, debates and performances which interrogate the status of the choreographer and of the spectacle creator in contemporary society. The inevitable relation between theater (the "stage-public" convention, teatron = place where you watch) and the spectacular of daily life, generated by the way in which information is delivered by traditional media and the internet (new media).

How does one recognize a radical artistic gesture? What does radical mean in art and what is it good for? How does dance integrate in the contemporary art? Why do we still maintain the traditional boundaries between the artistic practices in the field of representation (performance art)?
Media is the new reality. Can we become perception hackers?
Please, not another spectacle.

Announcement of Florin Flueraş's candidacy for presidency – the first post-power, post-ideology president - who brings concrete solutions for the dissolution of power, the radical reform of the presidential institution, in theory as well as in practice.

Beekeeping or the end of nature, lecture-performance by Ştefan Tiron and his guests

What to affirm, what to perform? proposal of a critic recovery of the recent past and the nearby future in Romanian contemporary dance. Discussion with Florin Flueraş, Manuel Pelmuş, Mădălina Dan, Alexandra Pirici and Mihai Mihalcea.


Saturday January 23rd

Entrance is made on the basis of a video-link. The show lasts until the last link, everyone can present only one video, not longer than 10 minutes.


Wednesday January 27th

Alpine performance - high-level meeting with Alina Popa, Olivia Mihălţianu, Sebastian Big, Irina Gheorghe and the band "Kill your enthusiasm"

20.00h - Round Hall (without public)
Home theatre 2 - Project by and with Eduard Gabia, Rolando Matsangos and Ion Dumitrescu. 24 hour performance. The spectators can enter the hall only Thursday Jan 28th, at 19.00h. In this meantime, the only way to watch the performance is on a TV which is situated at the 4th floor, at the entrance of the Round Hall.
